It’s been quiet in Hawkins as of late. Since season three ended, we have been left with many questions about where season four will go. While we wait for those answers, Dark Horse Comics has released a book to whet our appetites for our love of Stranger Things.
The comic takes us back a little ways to the end of season one. Will is still dealing with the aftermath of his survival in the Upside Down, while the rest of the gang is getting situated to life after the battle with the Demogorgon.
The official synopsis for Stranger Things: Zombie Boys goes like this:
It’s spring in the normally quiet town of Hawkins, Indiana. Mike, Lucas, Dustin, and Will are still grappling with the traumatic encounters with the Demogorgon and the Upside Down in season one of the hit Netflix series. As tensions rise and fractures begin to form in the group, a new kid shows up to AV club with a Betamax Camcorder and a vision. The new Spielberg-wannabe friend, Joey Kim, wants to make a zombie horror movie based on Wills drawings, and in the process they come to terms with the real horrors theyve already faced.
The book plays out with an emphasis on post traumatic bits of the gang’s situation as well as a well voiced focus on the dynamic of the group of friends. It mixes elements of Super 8 and improves on them by combining them with Stranger Thing’s world.
The 72 page comic is out now and available through your favorite physical and online retailer. More info can be found over at Darkhorse.com.
