Zombieland 2 – expected to hit theaters in October of 2019 – has revealed a cheeky secondary title and a new cast image that takes on the 10 Year Challenge
This new reveal – courtesy of the film’s Twitter account – shows a side-by-side “then vs now” image of Tallahassee (Woody Harrelson) and his cohorts Columbus (Jesse Eisenberg), Wichita (Emma Stone) and Little Rock (Abigail Breslin).
The image also reveals the secondary title, Double Tap, which is a delightful little throwback to a very important lesson from the first film (that’s applicable to any horror movie scenario, really. Thanks, Zombieland!).
The sequel will begin production this week, directed by Ruben Fleischer (Zombieland, Venom) from a script written by Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese, who penned the script for the original film as well as both films in the Deadpool franchise.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Zombieland 2 will find the rag-tag group of zombie killers “fighting new zombies that have evolved in the years since the first film, as well as other human survivors”.
Dawson will join Emma Stone, Woody Harrelson, Jesse Eisenberg, Abigail Breslin, and – new to the series – Zoey Deutch.
Stay tuned, we’ll be sure to drop more info as we hear it.
