Good news for Zombieland fans! It looks like Sony Pictures is pushing the movie on the fast track to get made. The studio just hired Dave Callaham to write the sequel under the supervision of Ruben Fleischer, who’ll return as Director.
It’s been close to five years since Zombieland saw Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Emma Stone and Abigail Breslin’s zombie-hunters prowl across the Southern states trying to find a new home. Most people assumed that a long-touted sequel would never materialize, especially after the poor ratings of the short lived show on Amazon.
Apparently, it’s Dave Callaham’s recent success on Jackpot, which is a darkly comic-tale that is based on a story by Swedish crime-writer, Jo Nesbo. He was also brought on do a re-write on Marvel’s Ant-Man after Edgar Wright’s shocking departure earlier this summer.
As more Zombieland 2 details emerge we’ll be sure to update you.
