These 7 Creepypasta Stories will Chill and Thrill You For Halloween

Creepypasta

Halloween 2020 is upon us and most of us are making plans for quiet evenings at home with horror movies and junk food in place of throwing our traditional larger gatherings. What’s a guy to do, though, when you’ve seen all your favorite movies a hundred times and you just want something different and spooky for Halloween night? Fortunately, for you and me, Creepypasta is here to save the day.

I love a good Creepypasta. There’s just something about them that reminds me of sitting in a darkened room with my cousins at my grandparents’ house telling each other stories that inevitably ended with excited gasps and no few screams as someone yelled “BOO!”

From their early days with “Ted the Caver” and “Jeff the Killer” to the infamous Slender Man himself, the official Creepypasta website has become a bastion for storytellers with a spooky story to share, and no few of them are Halloween-themed.

With that in mind, I thought I’d share some of my favorites, including one that’s brand new that I only discovered today. Take a look at my list below, and let me know your favorites in the comments!

#1 “Too Early to Trick or Treat” by HoodQuest

It all begins in early September when someone dressed as a giant, yellow bunny shows up on the protagonist’s doorstep. It’s much too early to trick or treat, but there’s something much more sinister going on here. The bunny returns in December, January, finds them when they move to a new house. Like most good Creepypastas, it’s that final paragraph that delivers the big punch. Read the full story HERE.

#2 “My Son Did Something Terrible on Halloween” by Girl_From_The_Crypt

An unnamed narrator, a mother, recounts the events that took place the year before on Halloween when her zombie-obsessed son went out trick or treating for the first time without adult supervision. I did not see the twist coming in the way that it did. It’s super creepy and violent. Check it out HERE!

#3 “Trick or Treat” by Justine Anastasia

Oof, this story is as heartbreaking as it is terrifying, and I cannot express to you enough that if you have a problem with clowns you should probably skip this one and move onto the next. A woman is home alone on Halloween night when a large clown shows up on her doorstep. He leaves her a “treat” and she soon finds herself running for her life. Read the full story HERE.

#4 “I am a Ghost” by Johnny Strange aka StrangeIsWe

I love when someone tries something different. This chilling little story takes place in a haunted house but is told from the point of view of the ghost who does his best to scare away the little brats who sneak into the house each year on Halloween. Check it out by CLICKING HERE.

#5 “The Legend of Tallulah James” by SuperQueen0208

Image by Brent Connelly from Pixabay

I love a good urban legend come to life, and this one has everything you need. A woman is visited late on Halloween night by a teenage girl who had a terrifying experience in a local cemetery. This one is a little longer, but totally worth it. Read it HERE.

#6 “The Ones Who Sleep Alone” by AimToSnack

This is a cool little open-ended creature feature. A guy recounts the story of the time he brought home a girl from a Halloween party and the stories they told each other in the gathering darkness. There’s a definite creepiness to the final story. It’s well-paced and gives you just a enough to chill the bones. CLICK HERE to read the full Creepypasta.

#7 “The Last Halloween” by William Dalphin

This excellent story finds two young boys setting out to pull a little Halloween prank on old Granny Clark. The night definitely does not go as planned. Just like many classic “ghost stories” the twists on the Creepypasta site get used over and over. The finale of this story, however, I did not see coming in any shape or form. Definitely worth the read. You’ll find the full story HERE.

’28 Years Later’ Trilogy Taking Shape With Serious Star Power

Published

28 years later

Danny Boyle is revisiting his 28 Days Later universe with three new films. He will direct the first, 28 Years Later, with two more to follow. Deadline is reporting that sources say Jodie Comer, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, and Ralph Fiennes have been cast for the first entry, a sequel to the original. Details are being kept under wraps so we don’t know how or if the first original sequel 28 Weeks Later fits into the project.

Jodie Comer, Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Ralph Fiennes

Boyle will direct the first movie but it’s unclear which role he will take on in the subsequent films. What is known is Candyman (2021) director Nia DaCosta is scheduled to direct the second film in this trilogy and that the third will be filmed immediately afterward. Whether DaCosta will direct both is still unclear.

Alex Garland is writing the scripts. Garland is having a successful time at the box office right now. He wrote and directed the current action/thriller Civil War which was just knocked out of the theatrical top spot by Radio Silence’s Abigail.

There is no word yet on when, or where, 28 Years Later will start production.

28 Days Later

The original film followed Jim (Cillian Murphy) who wakes from a coma to find that London is currently dealing with a zombie outbreak.

Watch ‘The Burning’ At The Location Where It Was Filmed

Published

on

Fangoria is reporting that fans of the 1981 slasher The Burning will be able to have a screening of the film at the location where it was filmed. The movie is set at Camp Blackfoot which is actually the Stonehaven Nature Preserve in Ransomville, New York.

This ticketed event will take place on August 3. Guests will be able to take a tour of the grounds as well as enjoy some campfire snacks along with the screening of The Burning.

The Burning

The film came out in the early ’80s when teen slashers were being churned out in magnum force. Thanks to Sean S. Cunningham’s Friday the 13th, filmmakers wanted to get in on the low-budget, high-profit movie market and a casket load of these types of films were produced, some better than others.

The Burning is one of the good ones, mostly because of the special effects from Tom Savini who had just come off of his groundbreaking work on Dawn of the Dead and Friday the 13th. He declined to do the sequel because of its illogical premise and instead signed on to do this movie. Also, a young Jason Alexander who would later go on to play George in Seinfeld is a featured player.

Because of its practical gore, The Burning had to be heavily edited before it received an R-rating. The MPAA was under the thumb of protest groups and political bigwigs to censor violent films at the time because slashers were just so graphic and detailed in their gore.

Tickets are $50, and if you want a special t-shirt, that will cost you another $25, You can get all the information by visiting the On Set Cinema webpage.
