Alamo Drafthouse’s Rolling Road show is bringing the mother of all sharks to the big screen in the best possible way. That’s right yall, the 75 foot megalodon is headed to the waters of Austin, Texas for a special preview screening of the upcoming Jason Statham film, The Meg.

This special screening and megalodon madness takes place at the Volente Beach Resort on Aug. 5 complete with water rides, volleyball and food and drink.

Megalodon bait… I mean attendees will be among the first to experience The Meg before it hits theaters out on the waters of Lake Travis with nothing but a raft to protect you from whatever lurks in the depths.

A deep-sea submersible-part of an international undersea observation program-has been attacked by a massive creature, previously thought to be extinct, and now lies disabled at the bottom of the deepest trench in the Pacific…with its crew trapped inside. With time running out, expert deep sea rescue diver Jonas Taylor (Jason Statham) is recruited by a visionary Chinese oceanographer (Winston Chao), against the wishes of his daughter Suyin (Li Bingbing), to save the crew-and the ocean itself-from this unstoppable threat: a prehistoric 75-foot-long shark known as the Megalodon. What no one could have imagined is that, years before, Taylor had encountered this same terrifying creature. Now, teamed with Suyin, he must confront his fears and risk his own life to save everyone trapped below…bringing him face to face once more with the greatest and largest predator of all time.

Alamo Drafthouse’s Rolling Roadshow are the folks responsible for previous immersive fan fave film events like Jaws on the water and a special screening of Robocop that screened at OCP headquarters.
