I don’t know about you, but I loved The Conjuring, to the point where it was my favorite horror film of 2013. To be fair, it wasn’t the most original story ever, but director James Wan executed the film in spectacular fashion.
The Conjuring of course went on to spawn a long-running franchise that has so far produced five films, with two more set for release before 2020 ends. The series as a whole has raked in more than $1.5 billion worldwide.
Next up on the Conjuring franchise docket is Annabelle 3, the officially still untitled third film in the sub-franchise centering on the demon-possessed titular doll. Annabelle 3 arrives in theaters on July 3rd, 2019.
Now, the officially sanctioned fan account for The Conjuring movies has confirmed that filming on Annabelle 3 is officially done, as of this weekend. That means fans likely won’t have to worry about a The Nun-esque delay.
Meanwhile, the third chapter in the main series The Conjuring 3 hits theaters in 2020, this time without director Wan in tow. Notably, the Warrens (Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga) will appear in Annabelle 3 too.
Annabelle 3 will be the directorial debut of Gary Dauberman, who’s become New Line’s go to guy when it comes to horror. He’s written both prior Annabelles and The Nun, as well as the IT remake and its upcoming sequel.
