Zack Snyder recently had a conversation with WMMR in which he fleshed out some plot details for his newest film, Army of The Dead. And from what he says, the movie seems like it’s set to be one of the more original zombie films of the past couple years.
During the interview, Snyder describes the movie as such:
“A zombie plague hits Vegas, and they’re able to contain the virus to the city… they build a wall out of shipping containers. And then the city falls. And six years later, one of the casino owners hires this group of zombie soldiers to go get his money that he left in a safe in the casino.”
Snyder says that Army of the Dead should be hitting Netflix in the winter of 2020.
Although it has its detractors, Snyder’s Dawn of the Dead remake made a lasting impact on the horror world and gave new life to the zombie genre in a time when it was truly turning stale and running out of ideas. I’m very excited to see how his newest movie is going to come out, especially with such an interesting and unique plot.
Filming is currently underway in Atlantic City. The cast is pretty stacked, featuring Dave Bautista, Ella Purnell, Ana de la Reguera, Theo Rossi, Chris D’Elia and Huma Qureshi.
