Ah, the holidays. Family get togethers, office parties, gift swaps, bright twinkling lights, egg nog…I don’t know about you but I’m exhausted and it’s barely even begun.
The truth is, after the brilliant, spooky Halloween decorations come down and people in the States prepare to gorge themselves for Thanksgiving before heading out to the ridiculous Black Friday sales to buy a $20 TV they can pass off as a $200 TV when they wrap it for Christmas, I just get the blahs.
Oh sure, I like food, deals, and presents as much as the next guy, but I really prefer my holidays spooky with a side of horror movies.
Luckily for me, a couple of years ago I discovered the brilliant Mr. Nightmare on YouTube.
Every week, Mr. Nightmare posts new videos in which he recounts true horror stories. The videos are themed and usually consist of 3-4 short stories, which he collects from a variety of sources including personal accounts, that are heavy on the creep factor.
So what does this have to do with the holidays?
He has holiday themed videos, of course!
Delivered in his signature, matter-of-fact style, these stories can seriously get under your skin. I once turned his channel on as I worked on a Sunday and after about 8 hours or so, I was jumping at every noise and the paranoia that someone might be watching me hung on for a day or two.
So, without further ado, let’s get down to the those creepy stories, shall we? If you want to hear more, by the way, all you have to do is click here to head over to Mr. Nightmare’s channel.
Now, for those in the U.S. who are gearing up for Thanksgiving, this first video is for you!
For our readers outside the U.S. you can skip right over Thanksgiving and head straight for Christmas, try these videos out!
Unfortunately, Mr. Nightmare doesn’t have any videos involving horror stories tied to Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, Yule, or any of the other holidays that fall in this time frame, but maybe he just hasn’t found them yet!
If you like these videos, make sure to give Mr. Nightmare a thumbs up on YouTube, and from all of us at iHorror, have a very scary holiday season!
