Ari Aster’s sophomore follow-up to “Hereditary” is proving that Hereditary’s success was no fluke. Midsommar, Aster’s transgressive, sun-drenched sophomore effort is giving summertime audiences big-time chills, and drawing rave reviews.

So, of course, some mad genius decided to pair “Midsommar” with “Wet Hot American Summer” in a fake trailer that fits way too well. You wouldn’t think the zany absurdity of David Wain’s comedy classic would mesh so well with Aster’s dread-infused nightmare, but Youtuber thatmattcaronguy does a stellar job editing this trailer, showing his appreciation for both films.

“Midsommar” is available in theaters now. Visit A24 for more information.
