The original Daywalker could be on his way back to Blade, you guys! And that is some exciting news. The next iteration of Blade is coming from Marvel and will place the Daywalker in the current MCU, meaning he can play with other supernatural characters in the universe, hopefully via Dr. Strange. Mahershala Ali is set to play the vampire killer in this new PG-13 rated Blade, but he might be getting a bit of help from the OG vamp slayer, Wesley Snipes.
“You never know. Under the right circumstances, I’m open to play with everybody. I know that people associate me with that role. The Daywalker community out there is a part of the Daywalker clique and our global community identifies with a little bit of that world and the new definition of Daywalkers, these global hyphenated multitalented individuals capable doing more things at one time — skill masters, as we call them. So, we gon’ keep going, we gon’ keep bringing.” Snipes told ET.
We seriously wish that Snipes was all together playing Blade in this one. The first two Blade films were fantastic. The first film pit Blade up against Frost and the Blood God and is one of those films we never tire of watching. However, we can 100 percent support Ali in the role because literally everything Ali touches is a slice of fried gold.
