It seems like we’ve been talking about The New Mutants forever–mostly because we have–but it also seems that the latest release date of August 28, 2020 is staying where it is.
Today we’re feeling just a little more hopeful as the studio has released a brand new clip from the film ahead of their scheduled appearance for a [email protected] Panel on July 23, 2020.
According to Deadline, that panel will include writer/director Josh Boone as well as stars Maisie Williams (Game of Thrones), Anya Taylor-Joy (The Witch), Charlie Heaton (Stranger Things), Alice Braga (I am Legend), Blu Hunt (The Originals) and Henry Zaga (13 Reasons Why).
The film follows a group of young mutants just coming to understand their powers who find themselves trapped inside a hellish landscape in an isolated hospital where they are subjected to cruel and terrifying experiments. Little do they know there may be something even more terrifying roaming the halls and it will take all of their abilities to survive.
The film has been described as a true horror comic book film in the vein of Blade and other similar comic adaptations.
The new clip gives the mutants their first chance to really flex their abilities in front of the camera and the footage is really cool and dark. Honestly, we can’t wait to see just how this story unfolds.
Take a look at the clip below and let us know if you’ll be watching The New Mutants when it FINALLY releases later this year!
