The first trailer for Monster Hunter, adapted from the video game and directed by Paul W.S. Anderson (Resident Evil) dropped today and they have most definitely pulled out all the stops!
Milla Jovovich stars in the film as Artemis who, along with her team, is transported to another world after being caught up in a terrifying sandstorm. They soon realize this new landscape is occupied by giant monsters immune to their human weapons. While trying to find their way home, the team encounters a man known only as the the Hunter (Tony Jaa). His special abilities allow him to stay one step ahead of the creatures, but is it enough?
Jovovich and Jaa are joined by Ron Perlman (Hellboy), T.I. Harris (Ant-Man), Meagan Good (The Unborn), and Diego Boneta (Terminator: Dark Fate).
The Monster Hunter video game is an RPG that debuted on PlayStation 2 back in 2004 and soon became a hit spawning an entire franchise. A new installment, Monster Hunter Rise, is slated for release on Nintendo Switch in March of 2021.
Monster Hunter is set to move into theaters on December 30, 2020, and we have our fingers crossed that it won’t be delayed like so many other titles this year. Check out the trailer below and let us know what you think in the comments.
