In case you haven’t noticed, the big thing right now is turning iconic horror movies into TV shows, and 1976’s classic film The Omen is next up on the chopping block. A&E’s Damien will serve as a direct sequel to the Richard Donner-directed film, and we’ve got the first look for you today.
The series follows the adult life of Damien Thorn (Bradley James), the mysterious child from the 1976 motion picture who has grown up seemingly unaware of the satanic forces around him. Damien must now come to terms with his true destiny — that he is the Antichrist, the most feared man throughout the ages.
Damien is written and executive produced by former Walking Dead show-runner Glen Mazzara, via his 44 Strong Productions. Shekar Kapur will direct the first of 10 planned episodes.
Check out the teaser video for the Omen-inspired TV series below, which features a grown-up Damien as well as a nasty dog that reminds of the original film. And look for Damien sometime in 2016, only on A&E.
