We’re just two months away from the premiere of AMC’s Fear the Walking Dead, which will serve as a spinoff of The Walking Dead. The new show will center on new characters in a new location, and it’s set to cover the early days of the zombie apocalypse that’s in full swing on the main show.
The first season of the new show, comprised of six one-hour episodes, will sink its teeth into AMC in August, two months before Rick Grimes and the gang return for Season 6 of The Walking Dead. And today we’ve got a brand new clip for ya, so check it out below – along with another that hit the net last week.
Set in Los Angeles, the series stars Kim Dickens, Cliff Curtis, Ruben Blades, Colman Domingo, Alycia Debnam Carey, Mercedes Mason, Frank Dillane, and Shawn Hatosy.
Robert Kirkman, Gale Anne Hurd, Greg Nicotero, and David Alpert from The Walking Dead are executive producers of the new series, which, like the original, is being produced by AMC Studios. Dave Erickson (Sons of Anarchy), who co-created and co-wrote the pilot with Kirkman, is an executive producer and showrunner.
“We take incredibly seriously the notion of building a satisfying companion series to the number one show on television. From the beginning of ‘The Walking Dead’ on AMC, we’ve been asked questions about what was going on in other parts of the zombie apocalypse and what it looked like as the world really did ‘turn.’ Through this new series, we’re going to find out,” said Charlie Collier, AMC president.
