Critters

The Crites have returned to earth! Time to get excited, you Critters fans. Critters: A New Binge is headed to Shudder very soon.

The folks behind Zombeavers are moving from hairy beavers, into hairy balls territory with Critters: A New Binge hitting Shudder March 21.

The new series avoids the reboot route entirely, instead creating a Crite tale that continues the franchise from the Stephen Herek’s 1988 cult sci-fi hit.

Critters: A New Binge is a comedy-horror Shudder exclusive series that picks up the tale of the Critters – hairy, carnivorous, insatiable aliens – from the beloved 1980s film franchise. Pursued by intergalactic bounty hunters, the Critters return to Earth on a secret mission and encounter Christopher, a lovelorn high-schooler, his best friend Charlie, his crush Dana, and his mom Veronica – whose past will come back to bite them. Who will survive? And who will be eaten?

The trailer looks insanely silly as hell. But, it’s in keeping with the wackiness of the OG films. My one gripe is the apparent cheap CG head morph they are using on the bounty hunters this time around. If they were able to pull of practical FX head morphs in 88′ it would seem like a feasible order decades later.

What do you guys think? Excited to spend some time with killer Crites again? Let us know what you think in the comments.
