The Walking Dead is a franchise poised to keep growing and growing and growing, regardless of what its detractors think. The flagship series just got renewed for season 11, alongside the reveal that Lauren Cohan’s Maggie will return as a series regular.

A trilogy of theatrical films is also planned that follow Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) after his near-death experience during TWD’s acclaimed season 9. Walking Dead’s prequel spinoff, Fear the Walking Dead, also continues amassing new seasons unabated.

For those who still need more zombie apocalypse stories in their life, AMC is prepping a third Walking Dead program for a spring 2020 premiere. The show is currently untitled, but the first trailer is now out, and can be viewed in its entirety directly below.

As is quite obvious, this new TWD-branded show is set about a decade after the initial outbreak, and focuses on a generation of teenagers raised in a world overrun by the living dead. The trailer has drawn comparisons to the work of John Hughes.

While I never would’ve predicted we’d get a coming-of-age story set within the Walking Dead universe, here we are. It’s too early to tell whether it will actually be any good or not, but the trailer is intriguing enough to at least check out the premiere episode.
