V/H/S broke in the horror scene in 2012 and, for the most part, was enjoyed by its target audience. It was a breathe of fresh air, mixing both the found footage and anthology genres. They followed up last year with V/H/S/2 which seemed to be better produced and seemingly higher budgets and fans seemed to enjoy it more. This year, Magnet Releasing is ready to top it again with V/H/S: Viral due out in theaters and VOD this fall!
V/H/S: VIRAL, the third installment of the popular horror anthology series. V/H/S: VIRAL features segments from directors Nacho Vigalondo (Timecrimes, Extraterrestrial)
The press release also went on to give a description of what’s to be seen in the latest installment.
V/H/S: VIRAL’s segments include the story of a deranged illusionist who obtains a magical object of great power, a homemade machine that opens a door to a parallel world, teenage skaters that unwillingly become targets of a Mexican death cult ritual, and a sinister, shadowy organization that is tracking a serial killer. The segments are tied together by the story of a group of fame-obsessed teens following a violent car chase in LA that unwittingly become stars of the next internet sensation.
The series seems to be getting more frightening and darker, but don’t my word for it… check out the trailer and poster (poster courtesy of Deadline) below! It’s looking to be filled with more mystery, gore and the undead that fans of the previous installments are sure to enjoy.
