Van Helsing is coming back to hunt the undead. This time around it comes from both proudcer James Wan and Julius Avery director of Overlord.
Not much is known about what the film will entail past it having to do with the world of Van Helsing. “Sources tell Deadline that Universal is developing an original horror/thriller inspired by the studio’s classic monster legacy set in the world of Van Helsing.”
Wan’s production company Atomic Monster has a long list of films coming up that include Mortal Kombat and The Conjuring The Devil Made Me Do It.
If you recall in 2004, Stephen Summers took over with his own take on the whole Van Helsing thing. That time around he went big action with it and the film starred Hugh Jackman and Kate Beckinsale. The film saw him taking on a multitude of baddies. It did well at the box office and it was shocking that it didn’t lead to any sequels.
Avery’s Overlord was an awesome bit of Word War II pulp that, put a platoon of soldiers up against super undead soldiers.
