“Unusual Ghost” Case Headed to ‘Unsolved Mysteries’ Reboot

by Timothy Rawles

A unique ghost case is headed to the Unsolved Mysteries Netflix reboot when the remaining 6 episodes drop.

One thing Netflix seems to be doing well is true-crime documentaries. That’s more evident this year with the success of Tiger King and Don’t F**k With Cats.

Moreover, Netflix’s recent foray into detective work is an en entire series devoted to true crime; a reboot of the 33-year-old anthology Unsolved Mysteries. It’s become the talk of the internet’s figurative water cooler especially the mysterious death of Rey Rivera from episode one.

Although the new season is chock full of intriguing tales and even includes a supernatural one, the original series used to have more ghost stories; something the current reboot doesn’t include. Until now.

When Variety asked Executive producer Terry Dunn Meurer if there will be an episode featuring spirit in the remaining cache for the season, she said:

“Yes. But I’ll qualify that and say it’s an unusual ghost episode. That’s all I’ll say. It’s different. A bit different.”

In the formal series, which ran for several years on network television, ghost stories were the creepiest topics and the most memorable.

From the Gettysburg Ghosts to Ressurection Mary to Tatum’s Ghost to name a few; Unsolved Mysteries was the original paranormal investigation program and was quite effective at it.

There is no firm date as to when the last episodes of this Netflix season will drop, but if the first 6 episodes are any indication of what we can expect, then we are in for a wild ride.
