Fans of Lore can now go deeper into the macabre than ever, as creator Aaron Mahnke just announced his new historical documentary podcast Unobscured! Mahnke revealed the project on Facebook, saying that the series will discuss a single topic in great detail over 12 episodes each season. His first season will explore the dark history of the infamous Salem Witch Trials.

Many of Lore’s episodes are so fascinating they often leave you wanting to research the subjects further the moment the show ends. Unobscured sounds like it will satiate your thirst for knowledge by being painstakingly more in-depth, and intending to set the record straight about historical events. Mahnke also confirmed a release date, and we won’t have to wait very long to find out what he’s been brewing up.

Here is the description from the website:

History is full of stories we think we know. They are old and dark, but time has robbed us of perspective and clarity. They’ve become obscured and misunderstood.

That’s why this series exists: to dig deep and shed light on some of history’s darkest moments. To help us better understand where we’ve come from. To make it Unobscured.

Each season will pair narrative storytelling from Aaron Mahnke, the creator of Lore, with prominent historian interviews. Season 1 premieres on October 3rd, and will take listeners on a deep dive into the dark and twisted events of the Salem witch trials.
