Ever wanted to visit the town of Amity Island from the movie Jaws? Sadly that’s not possible since its fictional but all is not lost because a few fans have created The Ultimate JAWS Locations Guide.
That’s right, you can almost see Chief Brody walking down the street as you explore every significant location that was used during production of the 1975 blockbuster.
The 3D map is best experienced using Google Chrome and Google Earth on desktop or mobile respectively.
Creators David Bigelow, Jim Beller and John Campopiano are true aficionados of the Spielberg classic and have incorporated over 70 points of interest associated with the film. Locations for the film mostly took place at Martha’s Vineyard, Massachusetts.
Want to see where Chrissie’s death scene took place? Check. How about the Brody house? Check. Town Hall? It’s there.
“We’re excited to bring this resource to fans of JAWS,” said co-creator Bigelow told MovieMaker. “We wanted to share it with the world as we believe it’s unlike any other map developed for the 1974 production. The map will be available online in both desktop and mobile formats so that it can be enjoyed at home or as a mobile companion to visiting Martha’s Vineyard and touring the locations in person.”
If that’s not enough to rock your boat, the team also included production sites in Los Angeles for Jaws 2 and Jaws the Revenge.
In what is called “the most comprehensive and accurate Jaws location resource anywhere,” exploring the interactive map might be the best thing to come out of the stay-at-home order.
