At this point, you’re probably tired of all the weird teaser videos. You just want to know what the hell the sixth season theme of American Horror Story is, am I right? Well, TV Guide may have just spilled the beans…
A user over on IMGUR just posted a photo of the latest issue of TV Guide, and it lists the new season as American Horror Story: The Mist. This is the first time we’re hearing this title, but it must be pointed out that one of the teaser videos we’ve seen over the course of the past several weeks was titled, wouldn’t ya know it, THE MIST. And according to FX CEO John Landgraf, only one of those teasers actually reflects the Season 6 theme.
“One is accurate; all the rest are misdirect,” Landgraf recently said. “We decided, Ryan [Murphy] and I and [marketing president] Stephanie Gibbons, that it would be really fun this year…to keep it a mystery. There is a theme and a setting and a place and time, but we’re not going to reveal it.”
So then. Has this mystery been solved? Is “The Mist” teaser the only one that was real, and is American Horror Story: The Mist the official title of the new season? Or is FX cleverly using TV Guide to confuse us all even further? At this point, who the hell even knows. But you can watch “The Mist” teaser below if you want to get an idea of what Season 6 *may* be like!
The new season premieres September 14th.
Lady Gaga, Angela Bassett, Sarah Paulson, and Cheyenne Jackson have all confirmed their Season 6 involvement. Jessica Lange, however, will not be returning.
