Trailer 2 Freddy’s Comin’ For You: ‘Five Nights at Freddy’s’

Published

on

Perhaps not the Freddy we have been hoping for, but this Halloween is definitely going to be a thing of nightmares. Maybe that’s subjective, but this new trailer for Five Nights at Freddy’s certainly has more bite than anything we have seen before.

The House of Blum has taken this videogame-inspired horror movie to task. Emma Tammi is directing. You might remember if you have ever seen the anthology horror TV series Into the Dark.

The trailer is pretty impressive, but is that enough to get people to see it in the theaters when it opens on October 27? It will have been more than a week since The Exorcist: Believer opened, but unlike Freddy’s PG-13 rating, the Devil gets a hard R. That could work if you have kids who can’t watch Exorcist but still want the thrill of being scared. It worked for M3GAN.

That’s the question: Will Freddy’s be scary — maybe too scary for kids? The whole game from which it’s culled was built on jump scares so hopefully Universal has included plenty of those.

At any rate, take a look at the new trailer below and give us your opinion on what you think the box office will do.

Watch ‘Immaculate’ At Home Right Now

Published

on

Just when we thought 2024 was going to be a horror movie wasteland, we got a few good ones in succession, Late Night With the Devil and Immaculate. The former will be available on Shudder starting April 19, the latter just had a surprise drop on digital ($19.99) today and will be getting physical on June 11.

The film stars Sydney Sweeney fresh off her success in the rom-com Anyone but You. In Immaculate, she plays a young nun named Cecilia, who travels to Italy to serve in a convent. Once there, she slowly unravels a mystery about the holy place and what role she plays in their methods.

Thanks to word of mouth and some favorable reviews, the movie has earned over $15 million domestically. Sweeney, who also produces, has waited a decade to get the film made. She purchased the rights to the screenplay, reworked it, and made the film we see today.

The movie’s controversial final scene wasn’t in the original screenplay, director Michael Mohan added it later and said, “It is my proudest directorial moment because it is exactly how I pictured it. “

Whether you go out to see it while it’s still in theaters or rent it from the convenience of your couch, let us know what you think of Immaculate and the controversy surrounding it.

Speak No Evil – Official Trailer

Watkins shared the trailer at the year’s CinemaCon, praising McAvoy for his ability to delve into complex characters. “James has this incredible range, being able to be both incredibly welcoming and, at the same time, deeply disturbing,” Watkins explained. His role in “Speak No Evil” showcases this duality, with McAvoy’s character oscillating between being a gracious host and revealing a menacing side.

Filming took place in Gloucestershire, England, where Watkins likened the production atmosphere to “a summer camp with a twist.” This setting underscores the film’s juxtaposition of idyllic beauty against a backdrop of looming horror.
