Fans are finally getting to see Robert Pattinson as the new Batman in a teaser that dropped on Saturday. The film titled, The Batman, looks moody and gritty like something from the book of Saw.
However, this latest entry is directed by Matt Reeves; the man behind Cloverfield and Dawn of the Planet of the Apes.
Investigating a seemingly dreadful murder, the opening of the teaser shows Gotham police searching a crime scene in which a person’s face has been covered in duct tape with the words “No more lies” written in red across the front. They find evidence in the form of a card that reads, “Haven’t a clue? Let’s play a game, just me and you,” with some writing on the other side addressed specifically to Batman.
This seems to be Riddler’s (Paul Dano) calling card. The audience is further tantalized with a brief glimpse of Penguin (Colin Farrell), Catwoman (Zoë Kravitz), and the voice of what appears to be the Caped Crusader’s faithful butler Alfred (Andy Serkis).
With all of this going on, the question remains as to whom is wreaking the most havoc on Gotham this time around.
I guess we will have to see as the movie is set to release “Only in theaters” in October 2021.
