If you’re a fan of sentient killer inanimate objects (I’m looking at you, Rubber), then buckle up. The producers of Turbo Kid have brought us what is sure to be another Canadian horror comedy hidden treasure with Slaxx.
In Slaxx, fashion turns deadly when a possessed pair of jeans is brought to life to punish the unscrupulous practices of a trendy clothing company. Shipped to the company’s flagship store, the pants proceed to wreak carnage on the staff who are locked in overnight to set up the new collection.
Judging by the trailer, things are gonna get ridiculous. We’ve got dancing pants and buckets of blood — basically everything you’d be looking for in a film about a pair of possessed pants.
The titular killer jeans were brought to live by Blood Brothers FX, the special effects company behind Turbo Kid, Blood Quantum, and Ravenous. If you’re won over by Slaxx‘s figure-flattering fashion, Canadian sustainable and premium denim brand Naked & Famous designed and manufactured the jeans.
Starring Romane Denis (Slut in a Good Way), Brett Donahue (Private Eyes), Sehar Bhojani (The Handmaid’s Tale), and Stephen Bogaert (The Umbrella Academy), Slaxx is written by Patricia Gomez and Elza Kephart, and directed by Kephart. This is her third feature film behind Go in the Wilderness and the 2003 film festival favored Graveyard Alive.
You can check out the new trailer below. Slaxx will stream exclusively to Shudder on March 18th in the US, UK, Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand, as well as via the Shudder offering within the AMC+ bundle where available.
