Netflix has been the only streaming service that is more consistent with releasing original horror movies than perhaps any other genre over the years, and frankly, they are getting pretty good at it.

Their next offering, The Silence, comes from director John R. Leonetti; the man behind the camera in 2014’s Annabelle and stars Stanley Tucci, Kiernan Shipka, Miranda Otto, John Corbett, Kate Trotter and Kyle Breitkopf.

Whether it will recapture the success of their homegrown Birdbox or John Krasinski’s A Quiet Place remains to be seen and heard. You can do both when it hits your “New Releases” row on Netflix April 10.

Here is the synopsis followed by the official trailer below:

When the world is under attack from terrifying creatures who hunt their human prey by sound, 16-year old Ally Andrews (Kiernan Shipka), who lost her hearing at 13, and her family seek refuge in a remote haven. But they discover a sinister cult who are eager to exploit Ally’s heightened senses. Based on the acclaimed novel, THE SILENCE.  Watch on April 10th, only on Netflix.
