The Mortuary Collection is a pretty fun movie, you guys. I was able to see this at Fantastic Fest last year as a midnight selection. It is really well suited for that slot and that crowd.

The trailer for The Mortuary Collection does a nice job of highlighting the awesomeness that is Clancy Brown while also not giving away too much of the whole story.

The official synopsis for the film goes like this:

A young drifter applies for a job at the local mortuary and meets an eccentric mortician (Clancy Brown) who chronicles the strange history of the town through a series of twisted tales, each more terrifying than the last. A SHUDDER ORIGINAL. Five twisted tales of terror, THE MORTUARY COLLECTION transports you back to anthology films of the 70s with loving inspiration from EC horror comics, Peter Jackson, Steven Spielberg, and the power of storytelling, and is a Halloween classic in the making.

On top of having Clancy Brown as the wraparound mortician and anthology host, the film also has praises from Sam Raimi. Director, Ryan Spindell who also worked on Raimi’s 50 States of Fright hones his horror talents here and they pay off really nicely.

The Mortuary Collection drops onto Shudder exclusively beginning October 15.
