It’s been a while since we’ve had anything to report in regards to The Green Inferno, Eli Roth’s loving ode to films like Cannibal Holocaust. At the tail end of last year we learned that Open Road Films will be giving the flick a theatrical roll-out on September 5th of this year, though at the time we still hadn’t yet seen a trailer or even all that many still images from Roth’s long-awaited return to the director’s chair.
We promised to keep you posted whenever we heard more and today we make good on that promise. The trailer for The Green Inferno has finally made its way out of the cannibal-infested jungle, and we’re here today to serve it up to you on a silver platter. And damn, does it taste good.

In The Green Inferno, co-written and directed by Eli Roth, a group of student activists travel to the Amazon in an effort to save a tribe from extinction. The trip takes a turn for the horrifying when they realize they’re trying to protect a tribe of cannibals… and they’re about to become the main course.
As a big fan of Roth’s previous films, I am very much looking forward to this one, which should be a breath of fresh air, amidst all the paranormal-themed horror that’s been flooding the box office in recent years. Roth’s flair for the sick, twisted and gruesome just might be precisely the shot in the arm the genre needs, and I can’t wait to feast my eyes on the horrors that await.
What say you?!
