An unsuspecting Englishman arrives in Transylvania, lured by a job with a local nobleman. But the undead Count Dracula’s real target is the man’s innocent young wife.
For me to write that Dario Argento isn’t exactly the filmmaker he once was would quite frankly be a big time understatement. And if you don’t know what I mean when I type that, then you probably haven’t seen his last several movies. Or the trailer for his latest film, Dracula 3D, which just hit the net today.
In fact, the trailer defies the very nature of a trailer, which is supposed to show off the best parts of a movie in order to get you excited about seeing it. If what’s on display here is the best the film has to offer, then I’d say we’re all in for 110 minutes of 3D boredom. I mean, I know vampires are supposed to suck and all, but it’s looking like Argento took that idea a little too far…
Dracula 3D is set to sink its teeth into limited theaters and VOD outlets on October 4th. The film stars Thomas Kretschmann, Asia Argento, Rutger Hauer, and Marta Gastini.
