It’s hard to believe that Arnold Schwarzenegger has never starred in a zombie film, but in fact he hasn’t. That all changes with this year’s Maggie, wherein the action star heads into more serious territory, playing a father whose daughter is turning into an undead rotter.
Described as a genre-bending film, Maggie will see Arnold caring for his infected teenage daughter, and today the official trailer has arrived. If you were expecting to see the Governator blast through a horde of zombies you may be disappointed, but that’s simply not the kind of movie this looks to be.
Maggie, instead, looks to be a reality-based drama, giving Arnold a rare chance to show off his acting chops. That sounds like a beautiful thing to me, and the fact that zombies are involved makes this one of 2015’s mostly hotly-anticipated horror films, here in the iHorror offices.

Lionsgate will be releasing Maggie this coming May, nearly a year after it’s originally planned release date. May 8th is the date you can expect to see the film, so that’s one date you should probably mark on your calendar.
The directorial debut of Henry Hobson, Maggie also stars Abigail Breslin, playing the title character.
