Try not to get chills at the end of the new Candyman teaser, you guys. The latest peek at Nia DaCosta’s film, gives further clues as to what the film has in store for us. On top of every dang thing looking great, the end of the trailer gives us the familiar and very welcome voice of Tony Todd.
Of course, we all know that Tony Todd made the role what it is in 1992 Bernard Rose classic. What wasn’t one-hundred percent was Todd’s involvement in the new Jordan Peele produced, DaCosta directed flick.
Now, we see a painting of Tony Todd’s face and the a fore mentioned tease of his voice at the end. The film already had us at hello, but now we can’t wait.
The synopsis for Candyman goes like this:
“In present day, a decade after the last of the Cabrini towers were torn down, Anthony and his girlfriend move into a loft in the now gentrified Cabrini. A chance encounter with an old-timer exposes Anthony to the true story behind Candyman. Anxious to use these macabre details in his studio as fresh grist for paintings, he unknowingly opens a door to a complex past that unravels his own sanity and unleashes a terrifying wave of violence.”
