I'm Thinking of Ending Things

Things are getting interesting on Charlie Kaufman’s adaptation of Iain Reid’s I’m Thinking of Ending Things for Netflix.

According to Variety, Toni Collette, who starred in last year’s Hereditary, has joined the cast along with David Thewlis (Wonder WomanThe Harry Potter Franchise).

Kaufman previously described Reid’s novel as “an ingeniously twisted nightmare road trip through the fragile psyches of two young lovers.”

I’m Thinking of Ending Things tells the story of Jake and his unnamed girlfriend on a trip to the country to see his parents on their secluded farm. The girlfriend is considering breaking up with Jake, and after an unexpected set of events, she finds herself stranded and alone.

Jesse Plemons (Black Mirror) was previously announced to play Jake and Irish singer and actress Jessie Buckley will take on the role of Jake’s girlfriend.

Kaufman has written numerous films including Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind starring Jim Carrey. This will be his fourth outing as a director. He previously directed Thewlis in 2015’s Anomalisa.

There is no release date yet for the film, but with this kind of talent on board, you can bet we’ll be keeping a close eye!
