Legendary horror makeup FX artist, stuntman, and director Tom Savini is set to guest-host the next episode of The Last Drive-In with Joe Bob Briggs on Shudder.

The episode is set to air on May 1, 2020, and while the show’s producers do not discuss episode details before they air, it will no doubt be interesting to watch Savini and Briggs discuss a drive-in classic or two.

Savini began his career in the 70s in the makeup department for films like Deranged: Confessions of a Necrophile, Dead of Night, and George A. Romero’s Martin. Before long, he was in-demand as not only a makeup artist but also for his FX designs, which were put to use in the original Friday the 13th.

Savini would go on to work on films like The BurningCreepshow, and Day of the Dead. In 1990, he directed Tony Todd (Candyman) in a remake of Romero’s classic Night of the Living Dead.

Savini’s appearance on the show comes after the season opened with wrestling superstar Chris Jericho spotlighting Bloodsuck Freaks and Kelli Maroney on hand to discuss her role in Chopping Mall.

Don’t miss your chance to see Tom Savini on The Last Drive-In with Joe Bob Briggs this Friday, May 1, 2020.
