Tom Holland’s Spider-Man May Show up In ‘Venom 2’

Rumors have it that Tom Holland will return as Spidey to the upcoming sequel to Venom. Venom 2 is being directed by Andy Serkis and once again stars Tom Hardy as Eddie Brock and will feature Woody Harrelson in the role of Carnage. The added bonus of Tom Holland returning to his web slinging roots to battle Venom is very, very exciting to say the least… but not without conflict and confusion.

All the hubbub between Sony and Marvel earlier this year became pretty nasty for a minute. As of now both studios are playing nice with an agreement that allows Sony its own respective Spidey universe. This includes Venom of course and the upcoming Mobius standalone. The confusion begins with Marvel’s Kevin Feige stating that Sony’s Spide-Verse isn’t connected to Marvels.

So, it is yet to be seen what capacity Tom Holland will return in. Cameo? Bigger role? To be honest any capacity is exciting. My major issue with the whole thing is how different the tone is in the first Venom film. It’s a weird tone to have Tom Holland’s Spider-Man included in. We are used to a very different approach to Holland’s two films in terms of tone and environment. I would hate to see him haphazardly stuffed into the Venom film just for cameo’s sake. Good writing is a must to make this work.

What do you guys think? Excited for the possibility of Tom Holland’s Spidey sliding over into Venom 2? Think this might open up the possibilities of a different Spidey universe in order to keep Marvel and Sony agreeable?  Let us know in the comments section.
