This really pisses me off. The iconic horror director known for The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Poltergeist, and The Funhouse Tobe Hooper, is recovering from an alleged vicious attack from his ex-girlfriend that has now sprung a lawsuit against the director’s attacker, Rebecca Hodges who is 38 years his junior according to TMZ.
In a pair of disturbing images obtained by the gossip media site, I’m not going to repost them here because it’s just infuriating to look at, Hooper’s face has clearly been used as a punching bag with pictures taken presumably after said attack. The photos display Hooper’s battered face with a large bruise and cut under the director’s left eye and has been reported that the latest assault occurred a mere two weeks ago with a previous altercation that involved a punch to Hooper’s face in April. At the time of this report, a judge has ordered Hodges to remain at least 100 yards from the father of Leatherface.
At this time, we all at iHorror want to extend our well wishes to a man we not only have the utmost respect for but to a living legend that has given so much to this genre we all love and embrace. The horror community is much like a family and when you mess with one, you screw with us all. Get well soon Mr. Hooper and good on you for refusing to tolerate that kind of shit any longer.
