What’s up, Tightwads?  Are you ready for another batch of free movies?  If not, get ready, because they’re coming for you right…about…now…

Zombieland (2009), courtesy Columbia Pictures.

Zombieland is a 2009 horror comedy about a ragtag group of people that bands together to make its way through zombie apocalypse-ravaged America.  One wants to get home to his family, two want to travel to an amusement park, and the fourth just wants a Twinkie.

As far as tired old zombie movies go, this one is pretty good.  It both embraces and satirizes tropes of the subgenre, so it’s not just another Night of the Living Dead ripoff.  The cast is star-studded, too, including Woody Harrelson, Jesse Eisenberg, Emma Stone, Abigail Breslin, and, as himself, Bill Murray.  You’ve got to see Zombieland, and you can do that here at Peacock.

The Hunger Games (2012), courtesy Lionsgate.

The Hunger Games

Set in a dystopian nightmare, The Hunger Games is about a yearly competition where children are made to fight each other to the death on live television for the entertainment of high society.  One girl winds up changing the game for good.

By now, everyone knows about this 2012 action thriller.  It made Jennifer Lawrence a household name.  If you haven’t seen The Hunger Games, you probably should.  And you can see it right here at TubiTV.  And if you’re still hankering for more Hunger Games, the rest of the franchise is there, too.  The 2013 sequel Catching Fire is here, and the two-part third chapter Mockingjay is here (Part 1) and here (Part 2), all on TubiTV.

Dave Made a Maze (2017), courtesy Gravitas Ventures.

Dave Made a Maze

Dave Made a Maze is about a stuck-in-a-rut artist, named Dave, who, well, builds a maze.  To the confusion of his friends, he constructs an elaborate cardboard fort in his apartment, then gets lost in it.  His friends go in to help, but his maze is bigger on the inside than it looks…and is full of horrors.

This 2017 movie is one of the strangest you’ll ever see.  It’s also one of the most charming and endearing.  Give it a shot, you’ll probably at least be amused, and it’s only 80 minutes, so what have you got to lose?  Check out Dave Made a Maze here at Crackle.

Don’t Kill It (2016), courtesy Archstone Distribution.

Don’t Kill It

Don’t Kill It is a 2016 horror comedy about a small Mississippi town that is overtaken by a demon.  The residents’ only hopes are a demon hunter and an FBI agent who reluctantly team up to stop the evil.

Don’t Kill It is not your father’s demon movie.  It’s hipper, and funnier.  Mike Mendez directed the fun cast which includes Dolph Lundgren, Kristina Klebe, Todd Farmer, Tony Bentley, Michelle West, and the awesomely named Billy Slaughter.  Hunt down Don’t Kill It here at Vudu.

Reflections on the Living Dead (1993), courtesy Tempe Digital.

Reflections on the Living Dead

Also known as Night of the Living Dead: 25th Anniversary Documentary, Reflections on the Living Dead is, of course, a documentary about the seminal zombie movie, 1968’s Night of the Living Dead.  This movie takes a comprehensive look at the influential movie using stock footage and photographs along with interviews with many of those involved with the making of the film, including George Romero and John A. Russo.

This is a NotLD fan’s fan piece.  There are also interviews with other filmmakers like Tobe Hooper, Sam Raimi, and Wes Craven who gush about the important movie.  It’s a must see for zombie fans, so catch Reflections on the Living Dead here at Midnight Pulp.
