What’s up, Tightwads! Tuesday kind of snuck up on us this weeke, but we’re still ready with a batch of free movies. Check these out…
Jennifer’s Body is about a high school cheerleader who, while living a wild double life, is turned into a succubus and starts preying upon the boys at school. Her best friend hopes to stop the carnage and bring her back to normal.
Written by Diablo Cody and directed by Karyn Kusama, this 2009 movie was the butt of many jokes when it was released, but it’s become a bit of a cult feminist text in the years since. Megan Fox plays the titular Jennifer while Amanda Seyfried portrays her best friend. Check out Jennifer’s Body here at TubiTV.
Also from 2009, Orphan is about a couple who, after recently losing a baby, decides to adopt a nine-year-old girl to once again complete their family. Their son is suspicious, but their daughter loves her new sister. Eventually, the family learns that their new addition isn’t quite who they thought she was.
By now, most people know the jaw-dropping twist in Orphan, but if you don’t, please go in blind. This is Chinatown level shocking. Directed by Jaume Collet-Serra, Orphan stars Vera Farmiga and Peter Sarsgaard as the parents, and Isabelle Fuhrman as their mysterious new child. Catch Orphan here, also at TubiTV.
Terrifier is about two young women who encounter a creepy clown on Halloween night. And by encounter, we mean that he stalks and brutalizes them…and one of their sisters as well.
This 2016 movie is quickly becoming a modern classic. At this point, Art the Clown is every bit as recognizable as Pennywise or Captain Spaulding. Terrifier is not for the squeamish, though. Art is a sick clown, and the movie is gruesome. If that’s your bag, you can see Terrifier right here at Vudu.
Valentine is about five young women who are busy preparing for their respective Valentine’s Day dates. Their plans are derailed when they find themselves being stalked by a cherub mask-wearing killer who is out for revenge.
Made in 2001 at the tail end of the nineties slasher renaissance, Valentine is a pretty formulaic movie, especially for those who are familiar with the slice-and-dice subgenre. The hip cast includes Denise Richards, Katherine Heigl, and David Boreanaz. Fall in love with Valentine right here, once again at TubiTV.
Faces of Death
Faces of Death is the infamous 1978 pseudo-documentary that purports to show actual scenes of real people and animals being killed. It’s been almost forty years since the movie was made, and most of the scenes have been debunked as either fake or re-enactments, but there’s still an air of the forbidden and the taboo about the whole thing.
Hosted by a “coroner” named Dr. Francis B. Gröss, there’s as much humor in Faces of Death as there is horror, and it looks pretty silly by modern standards. Still, this is about as legendary as movies get, being reportedly banned in 46 countries around the world.
In the late eighties, Faces of Death found itself at the center of a scandal in which an elementary school teacher showed it to her class, an event that only helped raise the profile of the movie. See what the fuss is all about for yourself right here, where else but TubiTV.
