Hey Tightwads! It’s that time of the week again. Time for free movies from iHorror and the internet. Let’s get to it…
Suspiria is the 1977 Dario Argento classic about a young American ballerina who goes off to school in Germany. She discovers that her school is no run-of-the-mill dance academy when bodies start piling up around campus.
Suspiria is widely considered to be Argento’s masterpiece, with eye-popping cinematography by Luciano Tovoli, an ear-shaking score by Goblin, and a charmingly confident leading-lady performance from Jessica Harper. Suspiria is an essential horror movie, so if you’ve never seen it (or if you just want to see it again), you can find it here at TubiTV.
The Most Dangerous Game
The Most Dangerous Game is based on an award winning short story by writer Richard Connell about a man who gets shipwrecked on an island. The shipwreck is the least of the guy’s problems, however, as the island is owned by a psychopath who hunts people for sport.
The Most Dangerous Game was made in 1932 at the same time as King Kong, using many of the same sets (as well as leading lady Fay Wray). The real fun in this one is watching the cat-and-mouse interplay between hero Joel McCrea and villain Leslie Banks. Watch The Most Dangerous Game right here at Popcornflix.
Anna is a 2013 movie about a “memory detective” who is asked to go into the subconscious mind of a 16-year-old girl who has stopped eating. Unfortunately, once he taps into her psyche, he realizes that the girl has bigger problems.
Anna is one of those not-quite futuristic sci-fi thrillers that is more psychological than visceral. Taissa Farmiga stars in the titular role, and Mark Strong plays the detective who pries into her memories. Check out Anna here at TubiTV.
Summer of Fear
Summer of Fear is about a family who takes in a cousin after the death of her parents. And everyone is charmed by her. Everyone, that is, except for the family’s daughter, who believes that the cousin may be a witch.
This 1978 TV-movie was directed by none other than yesterday’s birthday boy Wes Craven, a fact which makes it a lost classic. Linda Blair playing the daughter is just icing on the cake. Check out Summer of Fear here at Crackle.
Charlie’s Farm is a 2014 fright flick about a group of meddling kids that decides to take an adventurous trip to a farm that was, decades earlier, inhabited by kidnapping cannibals. Once there, they discover that they are not alone – Charlie, the presumed-lost son of the murderous family, still inhabits the farm, and he’s hungry.
This is one of those C-grade horror movies that relies on a handful of legendary stars to draw in fanatic viewers – in this case, Kane Hodder, Bill Moseley, and Tara Reid. Nathan Jones also shows up in the title role. It’s not good, but it’s entertaining. If cannibal killers are your thing, Charlie’s Farm waits for you here at TubiTV.
