Hey Tightwads! It’s that time again. Tightwad Terror Tuesday is when we serve up the free movies from the internet. So come and get’em…
Director Julia Ducournau recently became only the second woman to ever win the Palm d’Or at Cannes with her newest movie Titane. It’s as good a time as any to discover (or rediscover) her breakthrough 2016 feature Raw.
Raw is about a young vegetarian who goes off to veterinary school. Ae she immerses herself in the school and her studies, she finds that she is developing an insatiable appetite for meat. But not just any meat – human meat.
Raw is a shocking movie, both for carnivores and herbivores. There are legit “holy shit!” moments peppered throughout. It’s a hardcore watch, and you can watch it here at TubiTV.
Brain Dead is about a neurosurgeon who experiments with disembodied brains as he tries to unlock the key to mental illness. He is called upon by an old friend to tap into the mind of a genius researcher who now resides at a mental institution. What could possibly go wrong?
There are a few movies with the title Brain Dead, this one is the 1990 Adam Simon/Charles Beaumont joint. Bill Pulman stars as the neurosurgeon, Bill Paxton is the old friend, and Bud Cort is the institutionalized genius. George Kennedy is in it as well. Yes, both Bill Paxton and Bill Pullman are in the same movie. And you can see it here at Crackle.
P2 is about a young woman who, after getting stuck late at work on Christmas Eve, finds herself trapped alone in a parking structure with a psychotic killer. Standard stalk-and-slash premise, but it’s done very creatively.
It’s a fairly suspenseful contained thriller, surprisingly entertaining considering there’s absolutely no mystery regarding the identity of the stalker. This 2007 film was directed by Frank Khalfoun and written by Alexandre Aja and Grégory Levasseur, the same team that was behind the awesome Maniac remake. P2 is slick, well made, and a fresh take on the obsessed psycho subgenre. See it here on TubiTV.
The Baby is a 1973 movie about, well, a baby. The interesting thing is that this baby is 21 years old. A social worker checking in on the family discovers the adult with the mind of child, and all hell breaks loose when she wants to break up the unit.
The Baby is one of the weirdest movies you will ever see. And that’s not an exaggeration. It has to be seen to be believed, so see it here at Midnight Pulp.
Donnie Darko is a 2001 movie about a young introvert whose only social outlets are his girlfriend, his psychiatrist, and his imaginary friend, a giant scary bunny named Frank. When he narrowly escapes being killed by an engine that falls off of a plane, Donnie’s life becomes a series of strange events that seem more supernatural than random.
Donnie Darko is a really strange movie, but it has found a huge cult following in the years since its release, mostly thanks to a terrific performance from Jake Gyllenhaal and a great support cast which includes Maggie Gyllenhaal, Jena Malone, Patrick Swayze, Drew Barrymore, Noah Wylie, and Seth Rogen. See Donnie Darko here at IMDB TV.
