In Fabric is about a haunted dress. Yes, a haunted dress. That sounds like a silly movie, but it really isn’t. The dress makes its way through different owners, and each story is presented artistically and terrifyingly.
This 2018 British film is an A24 release, so that tells you all you need to know about its technical and artistic merits. Despite its silly and surreal concept, it’s an engaging and thrilling watch. You can watch In Fabric here at TubiTV.
Maggie is a 2015 movie about a father whose daughter is infected by an epidemic that turns its victims into zombies. As the infection runs its course, the father stays beside the daughter to protect her, knowing full well that eventually he will have to make an ultimate sacrifice.
This is the perfect movie for those with zombie fatigue. Sure, it’s got zombies, but at its root is a heartwarming story of loyalty and survival. In a surprisingly nuanced performance, Arnold Schwarzenegger plays the father, and Abigail Breslin is just as good as the daughter. See Maggie here at Vudu.
Djinn is about an Arab couple that moves into a new luxury high-rise apartment. They soon learn that the apartment building was constructed on a site that is home to a Djinn, or an evil genie. The Djinn has also moved in with them.
If that sounds a bit like Poltergeist, well, it kind of is. The Poltergeist connection is solidified by the fact that this 2013 spook flick was the last movie directed by master of horror Tobe Hooper before his untimely death. Catch Djinn here at Popcornflix.
Willow Creek is a 2013 movie about a Bigfoot believer who, along with his girlfriend, decides to travel into the woods of Northern California in search of the beast. They hope to capture some video footage to prove the monster’s existence, but what they find is far more horrifying.
Willow Creek is a found footage movie, but due to the subject matter, it’s one of the more effective ones. It’s sort of like a The Blair Witch Project for Sasquatch Hunters. It was also directed by Bobcat Goldthwait. Discover the secrets of Willow Creek right here at Vudu.
Real Fear: The Truth Behind the Movies
Real Fear: The Truth Behind The Movies is a 2012 Chiller Television Network documentary that examines the real stories behind famous horror movies. This first installment of the series takes a look at the true occurrences that inspired movies like The Amityville Horror, The Mothman Prophecies, and Poltergeist.
This TV movie is hosted by paranormal investigator Katrina Weidman from Paranormal State, so it’s got that familiar face going for it. There may not be much new here for those who are already familiar with the cases, but for those who aren’t, it’s a goldmine. Check it out here at Crackle, and they’ve also got Real Fear 2: The Truth Behind More Movies from 2013, featuring interesting segments about The Haunting in Connecticut, The Blair Witch Project (actually the Jersey Devil), Fire in the Sky, and A Nightmare on Elm Street, right here.
