Hey Tightwads! Guess what day it is? That’s right…it’s Tightwad Terror Tuesday. Here’s this week’s batch of free movies…
Rubber is a 2010 movie about a killer tire. Seriously. It’s about a tire than gains sentience and goes on a murderous rampage. Sure, there’s a parallel subplot about a bunch of spectators on a nearby hill watching, but all you really need to know about Rubber is that it’s about a killer tire.
Rubber is about as weird of a movie as you’re ever going to find. And, for such a silly concept, it’s surprisingly serious. And surreal. Hit the road with Rubber here at Crackle.
Death Warmed Up
And speaking of surreal…Death Warmed Up is about a young man who, as a boy, was given experimental mind control drugs that caused him to kill his parents. After serving time in a mental institution, the young man sets out to gain revenge on the mad scientist who brainwashed him so many years ago.
This 1984 hidden gem from New Zealand is equal parts splatter flick, zombie movie, and mad scientist tale, with plenty of drug-induced imagery. It’s nuts. Warm up to Death Warmed Up here at TubiTV.
And Now the Screaming Starts!
Set in late 18th century England, And Now the Screaming Starts! is about a young bride who moves into the estate of her Noble husband. Strange occurrences begin right as she arrives, culminating in an assault by a ghost on her wedding night that leaves the girl pregnant.
And Now the Screaming Starts! is a 1973 Amicus Studios classic. It was directed by Roy Ward Baker, and the cast includes horror legends Peter Cushing, Herbert Lom, Stephanie Beacham, and Patrick Magee. Check out And Now the Screaming Starts! here at ShoutFactoryTV.
The Deep is a 1977 thriller about two amateur treasure hunters who stumble upon a World War II shipwreck off the coast of Bermuda. When a local drug cartel catches wind of their find, the race for the forbidden cargo is on, with deadly consequences.
Based on a novel by Peter “Jaws” Benchley and directed by Peter Yates, The Deep is a different kind of aquatic horror movie. It’s more real. The knockout cast includes Nick Nolte, Jacqueline Bisset, Robert Shaw, Eli Wallach, and Louis Gossett Jr. Catch The Deep here at IMDB TV.
Playdate is about a woman who makes friends with her new neighbors. Right from the start, she thinks something is off about the family, but her suspicions kick into high gear when her daughter is injured during a playdate with the neighbor son. The woman digs deeper and learns that she has every right to be suspicious of her new neighbors.
Made in 2012, Playdate is a fairly routine kindertrauma flick. It’s a familiar premise and a typical plot. And while it does go some different places, it’s nothing too shocking. It’s short enough to still be a fun watch, though. If you’ve got 82 minutes to kill, you can do it by watching Playdate here at Vudu.
