House is a classic horror/comedy from 1985 about a writer who inherits a house from his aunt. Upon moving in, he discovers that the house is haunted, but not by just any old spooks; the house is full of crazy, ugly monsters.
This one has a great horror pedigree, with many of the people behind the Friday the 13th movies involved, including Steve Miner, Sean S. Cunningham, and Harry Manfredini. It’s also written by Fred Dekker of Night of the Creeps fame. Even with these frightmasters at the wheel, House is more comedy than horror, but it’s still a lot of fun. Added bonus; it stars The Greatest American Hero himself, William Katt, in the lead role. Check out House here on TubiTV.
Mark of the Witch
Also known as Another, Mark of the Witch is about a young woman who is raised by her aunt after her parents’ untimely death. Soon after her eighteenth birthday, the girl learns that her parents may not have been who she thought they were, and that she herself has a sinister familial lineage.
Stylish and suspenseful, this 2014 offering is not your typical occult movie. The cast is led by Paulie Redding (Rojas here) and Maria Olsen. Find Mark of the Witch here at Crackle.
Seven years before Saw, there was Cube. This 1997 flick is about a group of people who find themselves trapped in a giant cube made up of a bunch of different rooms. The rooms each contain traps that the prisoners, each possessing different skill sets and knowledge bases, must disarm and diffuse in order to find their way out.
Cube is a little more sci-fi than Saw, and a lot less brutal, but it’s still a clever concept. If you’ve been craving another Saw movie, you could do a lot worse than Cube. See Cube for yourself right here at TubiTV.
Extremity is a 2018 movie about a girl who signs up for an extreme haunted house experience in order to confront the demons of her past. She has no idea just how extreme the haunt will be, however, or if she’ll even make it through the experience alive.
Everyone has heard about these grueling, torturous extreme haunts, and Extremity exploits the fear that surrounds that enigmatic phenomenon. For those who don’t have the guts to go through it yourself, Extremity may provide a bit of a glimpse into the trend. Have a look at Extremity here at Crackle.
Goodnight Mommy is about a pair of twins whose mother has had facial reconstructive surgery. Before long, the boys start to wonder if it really is their mother underneath the bandages.
There’s way more to this 2014 Austrian thriller, but it’s best to go in blind. At about the halfway point, Goodnight Mommy takes a turn and it becomes clear that this is not the movie that its audience initially thought it was. Goodnight Mommy is available here at TubiTV.
