What’s up, Tightwads? We seem to be locked down again, how about some free movies to help get you through it?
What Lies Beneath
What Lies Beneath is a 2000 spook flick about a woman who believes that her lake shore house may be haunted. As she digs deeper into the mystery, she realizes that either she is right about the paranormal presence…or that she is slowly going insane.
Directed by Robert Zemeckis, this big-budget ghost story is one of the best movies of the 21st century. Michelle Pfeiffer stars as the tortured woman and Harrison Ford plays her research scientist husband. Find out What Lies Beneath right here at Crackle.
Uncle Peckerhead is about a rock band that books a tour right before their van is repossessed. So, they find a stranger with a van to drive them around. The stranger happens to have a dark secret, though, one that the band learns to exploit for their own benefit.
This 2020 splatter flick is sort of a werewolf-zombie-slasher hybrid, all held together by a pretty cool soundtrack. If rock and roll horror is your thing, check out Uncle Peckerhead right here at Vudu.
Attack the Block
Attack the Block is about an alien invasion that takes place in a neighborhood in England and the rag-tag gang of street toughs that has to fight it off. This one gets extra points for not having run-of-the-mill aliens; they are werewolf-like furry creatures with glowing teeth instead of egg-headed reptiles.
This 2011 sci-fi/horror/comedy is very much in the vein of Shaun of the Dead. In fact, it’s written and directed by Joe Cornish, a pal of the Shaun of the Dead camp, and Nick Frost, better known as Shaun’s sidekick Ed, even makes an on-screen appearance. Attack the Block is a hip and fun movie, and you can get in on the fun right here at TubiTV.
The Love Witch
The Love Witch is a 2016 movie that is exactly what its title implies; it’s about a witch who uses her magic powers to get men to fall in love with her. Her methods backfire when she meets a man whom she actually loves back.
It’s not technically a horror movie, but The Love Witch does deal with witchcraft and the occult, so we’re going to allow it. Written and directed by Anna Biller, this modern-day fantasy has the aesthetic look and feel of a seventies British horror flick. If stylistic occult movies are your thing, The Love Witch can be found here at Popcornflix.
Eat Brains Love
The brilliantly titled Eat Brains Love is a 2019 zom-rom-com about a guy who contracts a zombie virus along with his dream girl. The couple is forced to hit the road and run from a psychic who the government has sent after them.
As far as zombie movies goes, Eat Brains Love is as creative as they get, which isn’t saying much. It’s a fun ride, though. If you’re not sick to death of zombies, you can catch Eat Brains Love right here at TubiTV.
