It’s time for another batch of free movies from iHorror. And you’ve picked a good week to be here; in honor of the impending release of Insidious: Chapter 3, all this week’s movies are sequels! And here they are…
Puppet Master II
Continuing with the same crazy toy characters from the first movie, Puppet Master II finds the puppets stalking a group of paranormal researchers in an effort to steal their brain fluid for their maker, the ever-present Andre Toulon. For this 1990 sequel, creator David Schmoeller turned the directorial duties over to visual effects artist David Allen, because really, what is a Puppet Master movie without cool special effects? Check out Puppet Master II here on PopcornFlix.
Basket Case 2
Basket Case 2 is the story of a man and his deformed brother who, after escaping the events of the first Basket Case movie, end up living in a house with a group of similarly deformed people, and they join in with the other freaks to defend their new home with a vengeance. A different kind of monster movie, Basket Case 2 raises the mutant factor from the first movie, and the makeup and puppet effects reflect that. The 1990 movie is the brainchild of writer/director Frank Henenlotter who, in addition to having made all of the Basket Case movies, also did other schlock classics like Frankenhooker and Brain Damage. See Basket Case 2 right here on Hulu.
Cabin Fever 2: Spring Fever
Cabin Fever 2: Spring Fever sees the mysterious flesh-eating virus from the first Cabin Fever movie make its way into the water supply of a high school, where the students all drink it and fall victim to the same disgusting ailments as the kids in the original. Like most sequels, this 2009 Ti West-directed outing is not quite as strong as the Eli Roth original, but it owns its campiness, so it’s all in good fun. Good, bloody, disgusting fun. Have some fun for yourself with Cabin Fever 2: Spring Fever right here at Crackle.
The Toxic Avenger Part II
If there ever was an unstoppable low-budget movie franchise, it’s that of The Toxic Avenger. The Toxic Avenger Part II has the lovable title character being shipped off to Tokyo, Japan, by the evil Apocalypse Inc., who then spreads their evilness and no-goodity around Tromaville in his absence. The character of The Toxic Avenger has quite literally become the symbol and icon of Lloyd Kaufman’s Troma Entertainment, but before this 1989 sequel, even Kaufman wasn’t sure that the franchise had legs. Like all of the Toxic Avenger movies, The Toxic Avenger Part II is quick, cheap, and dirty, and Kaufman wouldn’t have it any other way. Fans of The Toxic Avenger know who they are, so if that’s you, you can watch The Toxic Avenger Part II right here on Viewster.
Not only is Halloween II considered to be one of the greatest horror sequels, many believe it to be among the best fright films of all time, period. The 1981 film picks up right where the original 1978 movie leaves off, with Final Girl Laurie, played by Jamie Lee Curtis, being rushed off to the hospital after her traumatic nightmare of an evening. Of course, serial killer Michael Myers is right behind her, hell-bent on finishing the job that he started. There’s really not much that can be said about Halloween II that hasn’t already been covered elsewhere, and everyone has most likely seen it several times already. If you’ve been living under a horror rock for the past 35 years, or if you just want to revisit it, you can catch Halloween II here at 80sHorror.net.
