Hey Tightwads! It’s Tightwad Terror Tuesday again! Ready for another batch of free movies from iHorror? Ready or not, here they come…
Gothika is a 2003 thriller that stars Halle Berry as a prison psychologist who has a car accident and wakes up as an inmate in her prison’s psych ward. She stands accused of murdering her husband, yet she has no memory of the crime.
Moody and atmospheric, Gothika is a cool mixture of a haunted asylum movie and a possession flick. In addition to Berry, it also stars Robert Downey Jr., Penélope Cruz, John Carroll Lynch, Charles S. Dutton, and Bernard Hill. Check out Gothika right here at Crackle.
As one might be able to guess from the name, iMurders is about an internet chat room in which the participants winds up getting murdered one-by-one. Of course, the checkered past of one of the occupants is the reason for the killing spree.
This 2008 tech-horror flick falls somewhere between Unfriended and Friend Request on the internet fear scale. It’s a low-rent affair, but holy cow! Look at this cast – Tony Todd, Frank Grillo, William Forsythe, Charles Durning, Gabrielle Anwar, and Billy Dee Williams (yes, Lando Calrissian himself). Watch iMurders, if only for the cast, right here at TubiTV.
Sheitan is about a group of Christmas Eve clubbers in Paris who meet a young woman and go back to her house in the country to continue the party. There, they meet the shepherd of the house, who has other plans for the group. In case you want more of a synopsis, the word Sheitan, which sounds like Satan if you say it fast, means Devil in Hindi.
Made in 2006, Sheitan is a creepy little French religious allegory that gets dark fast. Vincent Cassel plays the shepherd (and his wife), and Monica Bellucci also makes an appearance as a vamp. Take a look at Sheitan here at Popcornflix.
Chapter 27 is the 2007 story of the assassination of John Lennon. The twist is that it’s told from the point of view of Mark David Chapman, who was the killer, and shows the few days leading up to the fatal shooting.
This 2007 movie is more of a psychological procedural than a flat-out horror flick. It’s creepy enough to warrant an inclusion here, though. This is the movie for which Jared Leto gained a bunch of weight, since he plays the portly Mark David Chapman. Also, funnily enough, Lennon is played by an actor named Mark Lindsay Chapman. Ooh, spooky. Catch Chapter 27 here at Vudu.
Conquest is a 1983 fantasy movie about a young man with a magical bow and arrow who seeks to rid his world of all evil. He befriends an outlaw to combat a wicked witch who wants to steal his bow and arrow.
Directed by the one and only Lucio Fulci, Conquest is just as silly as it sounds. This 1983 sci-fi sword-and-sandal romp is considered one of Fulci’s rare misfires. It’s worth a watch, both for Fulci completists and those who might be looking for a cool retro goof. If one of those is you, you can find Conquest right here at ShoutFactory TV.
