Night of Terror
For horror fans and cinema aficionados alike, Bela Lugosi’s name is synonymous with his famous portrayal of Dracula, but he made dozens of other movies over his career. In 1933, just a couple of short years after Dracula, Lugosi played a creepy manservant in Night of Terror. The movie is about a group of heirs who have gathered for the reading of a deceased uncle’s will. Over the course of the titular night of terror, a psychotic maniac picks off the family members, one by one. It’s part murder mystery and part slasher movie, and although it was a Columbia Pictures B-movie, Night of Terror stands up pretty well next to all of the Universal Studios horror movies that were made at the same time.
