Hey Tightwads! How’s winter treating you? Let’s warm your cold night with another batch of free movies, shall we? Here they are…
Tokyo Gore Police
Set in the near future, Tokyo Gore Police is about a young woman who is part of a privatized police force which is tasked with hunting down mutant killers. She uses her position to track down and gain revenge on her father’s murderers.
This 2008 horror-comedy is fairly typical of modern Japanese horror – it’s quirky, gory, and just downright fun. If that sounds like your thing, you can find Tokyo Gore Police right here at Popcornflix.
The Severed Arm
The Severed Arm is about a group of explorers that gets trapped in a mine shaft. Starving, they draw straws and the unlucky winner (loser?) has their arm cut off in order to be eaten. Of course, they are rescued right after doing the deed, and years later, they are picked off one-by-one by the vengeful victim.
Although it’s slasheristic in formula, The Severed Arm is more of a procedural mystery than a splatter flick. It’s a fun premise, though, even back in 1973 when it was made. Keep a keen eye out for an uncredited Angus Scrimm playing a mailman. Check out The Severed Arm right here at Dailymotion.
Zombie Fight Club
Zombie Fight Club is about a zombie outbreak in Taiwan. Made in 2014, it’s a pretty standard zombie affair for the first act. It’s only when it jumps forward in time and mob bosses are pitting captured prisoners against zombies when it earns its Palahniuk-inspired title.
This one is gory, sensationalistic, and exploitive. It’s not bad, there’s just very little in it that hasn’t been seen before. If you’re not sick to death of zombies or battle royal-type combat movies, catch Zombie Fight Club here at ShoutfactoryTV.
Not to be confused with the pregnancy movie of the same name that was remade last year, Inside is a 2012 movie about a prison that has fallen under attack by…something. And that something has focused its attention on a specific inmate.
Inside is one of those unsung movies that gets swept under the rug because a better or more notorious movie shares its name. And honestly, this Inside is not as good as the more infamous one, but it’s a completely different movie. Compare for yourself right here at TubiTV.
Death of a President
Death of a President is a 2006 faux-documentary (fake news, if you will) about the fictional assassination of then-President George W. Bush. Contrary to what its title and concept imply, it is not overtly anti-Bush, but it does have a strong point of view.
It’s not so much a horror movie as it is a fascinating documentary, and on a technical level, it’s very well done, with actors’ performances edited together with footage of Bush and Cheney in a Forrest Gump-ian way. No matter what your political belief system is, Death of a President is an interesting watch. And you can watch it here at Vudu.
