This Year’s Goosebumps Movie Will Be in 3D

by admin

This coming October sees the theatrical release of a Goosebumps feature film, which will bring many of the most iconic characters from R.L. Stine’s books to the big screen for the very first time. As we reported last week, Stine recently saw and loved the film, and now he reveals something else about it.

Over on Twitter, R.L. Stine broke the news today that Goosebumps will come at us in three eye-popping dimensions, which likely means it was converted in post-production. As far as we’ve been made aware, the film wasn’t actually shot in 3D, so this appears to have been a last minute decision.

Something I learned yesterday: the Goosebumps Movie will be in 3-D,” tweeted Stine, indicating that even he was surprised by the news.

In the Rob Letterman-directed film, Jack Black stars as R.L. Stine, the story centering on the various monsters from the books being unleashed upon the real world. It’ll be up to Stine and two teenagers to put the monsters back into the books, before it’s too late.

For those who missed it, be sure to check out the reveal of all the Goosebumps movie monsters, which should look quite familiar to longtime fans of the property!

In Goosebumps, upset about moving from a big city to a small town, teenager Zach Cooper (Dylan Minnette) finds a silver lining when he meets the beautiful girl, Hannah (Odeya Rush), living right next door. But every silver lining has a cloud, and Zach’s comes when he learns that Hannah has a mysterious dad who is revealed to be R. L. Stine (Jack Black), the author of the bestselling Goosebumps series.

It turns out that there is a reason why Stine is so strange… he is a prisoner of his own imagination – the monsters that his books made famous are real, and Stine protects his readers by keeping them locked up in their books. When Zach unintentionally unleashes the monsters from their manuscripts and they begin to terrorize the town, it’s suddenly up to Stine, Zach, and Hannah to get all of them back in the books where they belong.
