All of us here on iHorror were saddened to hear of the passing of Dave Brockie this past March, who was the lead singer of the ass kicking metal band GWAR. In addition to portraying the intergalactic humanoid barbarian Oderus Urungus in the popular band, Brockie also played the character on Adam Green’s series Holliston, appearing in every episode as an imaginary entity in Green’s bedroom closet.
Brockie’s contributions to the world of both music and horror could never possibly be overstated, and in the wake of his passing, toy company Aggronautix is paying tribute to the man, the myth and the demonic legend, with a pair of limited edition GWAR bobble-heads, in the likeness’ of Urungus and the band’s guitarist ‘Balsac the Jaws of Death.’
Now available for pre-order from the Aggronautix website, the collectible set is limited to only 1,000 and Oderus measures 6.5″ tall, while Balsac comes in at 7.5″, from horn to hoof. The set is selling for $49.99, and a portion of all proceeds goes to the Dave Brockie Fund, a charity that preserves the legacy of Dave’s work, and also promotes the advancement of the creative arts.
Head over to Aggronautix to pre-order a set for yourself, and expect Oderus and Balsac to bobble their way onto your toy shelf in late July!
