Supernatural horror flick, The Wretched, is making its debut on Hulu this Friday, July 31, 2020.

Written and directed by Brett and Drew T. Pierce aka The Pierce Brothers (Deadheads), the film centers on a teenage boy struggling to cope with his parents looming divorce when he finds himself locked in a battle with a thousand year old witch posing as the woman next door.

The film stars John-Paul Howard (Hell or High Water), Piper Curda (Youth & Consequences), Jamison Jones (The Whispers), Azie Tesfai (Wicked Wicked Games), and Zarah Mahler (Manson Girls).

The Wretched has had an interesting road to the streaming platform. It opened in a limited release in theaters and drive-ins in May 2020, and due to Covid-19 restrictions, was the top box office earner–drawing in just over $1 million–for six weeks. It’s the first film to have held the top spot for that long since Avatar in 2009.

Considering the state of the entertainment industry in the wake of the pandemic, the numbers are quite remarkable, and now you can see it from the comfort of your own home!
